Bayern remains hopeful over Bosingwa

07/03/2009 - Munich, Germany (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - Bayern Munich remains hopeful of being able to sign Jose Bosingwa from Chelsea.

The German giants revealed their interest in the Portugal right-back last month and chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge still believes a deal can be struck between the two clubs.

"We are convinced about Bosingwa and that he would fit in really well at FC Bayern," he told German media.

"I don't think the book has been closed on this issue yet."

Bosingwa has spent just one season at Stamford Bridge following a $26 million move from FC Porto last summer.

The 26-year-old made 40 appearances in all competitions for the Blues, but is reported to have been unsettled by Chelsea's attempt to sign England right- back Glen Johnson from Portsmouth before he opted to join Liverpool.

Out west, 22nd-ranked Arizona State will be battling for their first victory over 21st-ranked California since 2000. Although the Golden Bears are listed as 7.5-point favorites, the Sun Devils are 3-0, lead the nation in sacks with 18 and possess the Pac-10's leading passer in sophomore quarterback Rudy Carpenter.
